Visitantes
NUNCA he visto en Lugo tantos turistas como ayer. Naturalmente excluyo la época de festejos. Pero lo del lunes fue mucho, como dicen ahora los jóvenes. En la zona monumental había más forasteros que vecinos. La oficina de turismo que la consellería abrió en la calle del Conde de Pallares estaba, alrededor de la una, de bote en bote, hasta el punto de que mi acompañante que iba a solicitar información lo dejó para más tarde. Pensábamos que no cerraría por lo menos hasta lastres o que incluso estaría abierta todo el día pero a las dos en punto echaron la llave; nos quedamos compuestos y… Creo que en épocas como la actual habría que tener un horario más amplio. Pero volviendo a la presencia ayer de forasteros les diré que animaron las calles y los locales de hostelería del centro. No hacía sol, pero la temperatura era muy agradable y la muralla era el objetivo de la mayoría. No conozco los motivos porque era una fecha corriente del verano, pero firmaría porque la ciudad estuviese siempre así de animada por gente de fuera.

CERCA de las diez de la noche hablé con el último de los empresarios de hostelería que a las once y media de hoy participarán en la subasta de casetas y calderos del pulpo. Parece que esta vez va en serio y la cosa no está “arreglada” como otras veces previo pago, a los que se quedaban fuera, de ciertas cantidades. ¿Por qué?.
Directamente, interesados han dado estas razones:
- Hubo un mal rollo de principio porque una parte de los empresarios intentó llegar a un acuerdo con el ayuntamiento a espaldas de los otros.
- En la reunión celebrada hace unos días, parece que la única, todos mostraron su interés en participar en la subasta. Nadie, como otras veces, dijo:”yo me retiro si se me paga tanto”.
- Aunque fueron los mismos empresarios los que solicitaron del ayuntamiento una adjudicación por tres años, esto puede ahora condicionar negativamente: “hay que pensarse mucho lo que se subasta, porque repercutirá en dos temporadas más. No es lo mismo pagar un millón de pesetas al revés, que el millón se convierta en tres millones. Este razonamiento creemos que también ha influido en no llegar a acuerdos entre nosotros. Lo que parecía una ventaja puede haberse convertido en un inconveniente, porque las circunstancias económicas son diferentes para mal y no debemos correr riesgos”.
Les pregunté a todos mis interlocutores si iban “a por todas” y todos respondieron igual:”no; nos hemos fijado una cantidad y llegaremos a ella y ni un euro más; nada de calentones”.
DECEPCIONANTES las transmisiones de los juegos. No me puedo creer que a media tarde no haya nada más interesante que ofrecer que un partido de waterpolo entre las selecciones de China y Rusia. También deja bastante que desear la información sobre las transmisiones previstas. En Teledeporte, por ejemplo, anuncian judo y sale baloncesto. Este fallo es casi continuado.
SEMENTANDO, Asociación Cultural de Navia de Suarna, celebra el próximo viernes la “Iª Festa da Mallega”. A diferencia de otros lugares en que fiestas de este tipo se celebran utilizando las viejas máquinas con motores de dos tiempos, aquí el trabajo se hace a mano, utilizando el mallo para separar el grano de la paja. Xerardo Rodríguez encabeza la comisión organizadora, que cuenta con la colaboración de Carlos González, Presidente de Deloitte, uno de los más ilustres naviegos.

Lo que no hacen los responsables que cobran por ello , mientras transitan los días dorados de la Política Local/Provincial/Regional , lo hace el boca a boca , que en el caso de Lugo , viene respaldado por la hospitalidad que nos enseñaron en casa desde siempre .
Ayer nos contaba del interés en visitar la ciudad , alguien que ya estuvo en Galicia antes , pero que tenía como única referencia de interés en la Provincia de Lugo , Las Catedrales de arena y mar . Desde entonces y tras oir el comentario de quien cambió el Erasmus con estancia en países de por ahí , por la estancia en en el país de Lugo , en la Escuela de Agrónomos , creo , recomienda la visita a la Ciudad amurallada .
Eso y el tiempo de no playa , llevan a Lugo , los Turistas que no saben/quieren/pueden/no les da la gana de llevar , quienes tienen en sus manos su promoción y cobran por cerrar al mediodía _que manda chover na habana_ .
Pero la solución es fácil , siempre que se la dejen tomar a quienes no abandonan la Ciudad , porque supongo que eso es querer lo tuyo y a partir de ahí , las soluciones vienen rodadas a tu mente .
Dificilmente encontrará ni siquiera motivo , quien piensa que Lugo no es para el Verano , aunque , por la moda le ponga bicicletas , considerando que estas si lo son .
De transmisiones de los Juegos , supongo que están esperando en China y nadie se dió cuenta , la Cantera de Expertos en Retransmisiones Deportivas existente en España . Sería una salida para la cantidad de excedentes que ya existía y potenciada ahora en la Universidad .
Quizás resolveríamos dos temas de una tacada , y la crispación creada desde los Medios , disminuiría regresando a lo que se considera normal en otros lares . Y los Chinos , entretendrían a sus Tibets y demás con Prensa Rosa , que siempre es mejor solución acabar con el enemigo adormeciéndolo o atufándolo de aromas , que con la milicia desplegada en la calle .
Eso sí , en pocos años conseguiríamos que dejasen de invadirnos con sus negocios , una vez instalada la costumbre de que el trabajo está mal visto y es para los pringaos .

Respecto al apellido Lugo, que señalaba hace unos días, parece que efectivamente se refiere a nuestra ciudad, pero muy de lejos: Pedro Fernández de Lugo llegó a Canarias por el 1400… pero dicen que ya procedía de Sevilla. El movimiento hacia el Sur de gente como los Cervantes, Saavedra, o Lugo continuó hacia América.
